Volleyball Recap: Elyria Christian Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Elyria Christian hadn't done well against Herington recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Elyria Christian came out on top against Herington by a score of 2-0. This was a revenge game for Elyria Christian: when they faced off against Herington back in September, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

Elyria Christian never let Herington on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 26-24.

Joy Pyle paced Elyria Christian's offense, picking up 11 kills. Pyle got some help from Laney Reiff and her 12 assists. Reiff was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Elyria Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-17 record this season. As for Herington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18-3 record this season.

Coincidentally, Elyria Christian and Herington will both be playing Rural Vista [Hope/White City] the next time they take the court. Elyria Christian will head out to face Rural Vista [Hope/White City] at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Herington will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
