Bowie has gone a perfect 10-0 against Akins recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bowie Bulldogs will look to defend their home field against the Akins Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Bowie is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
Bowie lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Westlake, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. Bowie put the hurt on Westlake with a sharp 10-2 win on Tuesday. Considering the Bulldogs have won four matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kate Bookidis spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on CiCi Alvidrez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Valeria Feeney was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Bowie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Akins suffered their closest defeat since April 5, 2024 last Tuesday. They fell just short of Westlake by a score of 6-4. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hailey Rae Ramos made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zianna Mendoza, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Bowie's victory was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Akins, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Bowie took their win against Akins in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-3. Does Bowie have another victory up their sleeve, or will Akins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
