Recap: Kingston Tigers vs. Shaker Bison

After a string of six wins, the Kingston Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 67-44 walloping at the hands of Shaker. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Kingston has scored all season.

Shaker found their leader in underclassman Peyton Hoblock, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Jayla Geter, who scored 17 points along with five assists.

Kingston's defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-1. As for Shaker, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Kingston will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Valley Central at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Valley Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Kingston is ranked 33rd). Shaker will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Hanover at 12:30 p.m. on December 27th.
