League recap: Peters throws longest pass in league this season for Mount Carmel Academy

Kendrex Peters and Joshua Brazille provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Lutheran North. The connection went for 78 yards, the longest such play in TCAL Division I this season.

Tomball Christian HomeSchool scaled the state rankings by moving to 1,061 from 1,102 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Warriors climbed the ranks as a result of losing to College Station 40-0.

Mount Carmel Academy's dynamic duo of Peters and Brazille proved to be unstoppable against the Lions, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Peters threw for 103 yards and 1 touchdown and Brazille had 103 yards receiving. Chris Guitguit helped Mount Carmel Academy's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 11 yards.

Peters was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Rebels beat Lutheran North. The 5-foot-11 defensive lineman forced 2 fumbles and recorded 1 fumble.

Tomball Christian HomeSchool's Austin Frey and Koty Goldvarg led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Frey has thrown for 533 yards this season, while Goldvarg has 10 catches for 216 yards. Mount Carmel Academy's Peters leads the league in rushing yards with 230.

Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Jack Frey's team's Goldvarg goes up against Lacy Wolf's team's Jeremiah Fuller.

Next week's game between the Warriors and the Rebels will feature an aerial matchup as Frey tests his arm against Fuller's defensive ability.

A big matchup in TCAL Division I this week will be when Mount Carmel Academy takes on Tomball Christian HomeSchool. As it stands, the Rebels are in second, while the Warriors are in third.

The league will see a high scoring game when Mount Carmel Academy and Tomball Christian HomeSchool face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Rebels comes in having scored 112 this season, while the Warriors have scored 98. Mount Carmel Academy scored 14 points last week as it topped the Lions.

Tomball Christian HomeSchool lost to the Cougars 40-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Frey was a bright spot for the Warriors, as he threw for 56 yards and ran for 32 yards in the loss.
