Preview: Barstow Knights vs. Summit Christian Academy Eagles
The Barstow Knights and the Summit Christian Academy Eagles will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
Barstow unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 57-49 to Benton.
Meanwhile, Summit Christian Academy can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. They blew past Smithville 86-60. Given Summit Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while Smithville is ranked 204th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Summit Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carter Jeffries, who scored 25 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jeffries has scored all season. Max Rieger was another key contributor, scoring 24 points along with three steals.
Barstow's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for Summit Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Barstow and Summit Christian Academy were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but Barstow came up empty-handed after a 59-58 loss. Can Barstow avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
