Madonna barely beat Bridgeport the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Dons were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Bulldogs on Friday. The Blue Dons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.
Madi Owens was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Conley, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Madonna's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Bridgeport, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.
Looking ahead, Madonna will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Clairsville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bridgeport, they will head out to square off against Frontier at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
