Volleyball Game Preview: Cinco Ranch Cougars vs. Paetow Panthers

Cinco Ranch has gone 7-1 against Paetow recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Cougars will welcome the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Cinco Ranch's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Paetow has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Cinco Ranch lost 3-0 to Jordan on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-10, 25-14.

Despite the defeat, Cinco Ranch had strong showings from Natalie Wolskij, who had ten digs and two assists, and Reagan Tobeck, who had 11 assists and six digs. Wolskij has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last nine times she's played.

Meanwhile, Paetow made easy work of Morton Ranch on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Paetow was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-13, 25-15.

Paetow found their leader in sophomore Sofia Moctezuma, who had 20 assists and three digs.

Paetow's win bumped their record up to 15-13. As for Cinco Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 13-18.

Cinco Ranch couldn't quite get it done against Paetow when the teams last played back in September as they fell 3-1. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Panthers' Francesca Easterbrook, who had 15 digs and two aces. Now that the Cougars know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
