Evadale is a perfect 6-0 against West Hardin since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rebels will face off against the Oilers at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Evadale humbled Acadiana Christian with a 43-6 victory. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Rebels' disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1100th in Texas, while the Defenders are ranked 289th in Louisiana).

A big part of Evadale's win came down to the chemistry between Brett Buckner and his top target Gavin Maxfield. Buckner threw for 302 yards and five TDs while completing 85.2% of his passes while Maxfield picked up 122 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Buckner has been hot recently, having posted four or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. A healthy portion of Buckner's aerial production (91 yards to be exact) also went to Brantley Badger, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for West Hardin, as they earned their first away victory of the season. Everything went their way against Hull-Daisetta on Friday as they made off with a 34-14 win.

A big part of West Hardin's victory came down to the chemistry between Marcus Hashaw and his top target Dmarques Guillory. Hashaw rushed for 43 yards and a pair of scores while Guillory picked up 126 receiving yards and one touchdown. Hashaw also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making one tackle and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception which he returned for a touchdown.

West Hardin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Owen Beauchamp and Hashaw. Hashaw got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win got Evadale back to even at 2-2. As for West Hardin, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3.

Evadale was able to grind out a solid win over West Hardin in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 45-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
