Recap: Osmond/Randolph Hawks vs. Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] Bobcats
The Osmond/Randolph Hawks struggled with offensive rebounds on Friday (the Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] Bobcats had 14 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Osmond/Randolph took a 45-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard]. While losing is never fun, Osmond/Randolph can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] is ranked 39th).
Despite the loss, Osmond/Randolph still got an impressive performance from Sophie Gansebom, who scored 13 points.
Leading Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] to victory were Lydia Robertson and Adyson Mlnarik. Robertson dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Mlnarik scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Mlnarik is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Bolling, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Osmond/Randolph's defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-11. As for Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard], the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.
Osmond/Randolph will head out on the road to take on Winside at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Winside has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12. As for Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard], they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Elkhorn Valley at 6:00 p.m.
