Volleyball Game Preview: Avon Pirates vs. Corsica/Stickney Jaguars

The Avon Pirates will face off against the Corsica/Stickney Jaguars on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Avon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Kimball/White Lake by a score of 3-1.

Jordyn Voigt went supernova, getting 26 digs and one assist. She has been hot, having posted 13 or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Avon was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last seven contests.

Meanwhile, Corsica/Stickney got the win against Lower Brule on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jaguars.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Corsica/Stickney took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-10, 25-14.

Avon's record now sits at 18-11. As for Corsica/Stickney, their record is now 18-12.

Avon was able to grind out a solid win over Corsica/Stickney when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
