Basketball Recap: Macon Takes a Loss

Macon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a hard 57-43 fall against the Van-Far Indians. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 63-40 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Van-Far's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carson Huff, who posted 14 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. Those six assists gave Huff a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Pacey Reading, who put up 13 points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Macon's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Van-Far, their record now sits at 7-1.

Macon is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Chillicothe at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chillicothe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season. As for Van-Far, they will face off against Salisbury at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Van-Far's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
