Brookings faced Roosevelt in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bobcats' pitchers stepped up to hand the Rough Riders a 12-0 shutout. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by eight runs or more this season.

Brookings is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Roosevelt, they dropped their record down to 6-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Brookings wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-1 win against Mitchell on the 16th. As for Roosevelt, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-0 victory against Watertown on the 17th.
