Game recap: La Habra High School Football Team wins against Sonora

LA HABRA, Calif. - Leading by 22 points entering the fourth quarter didn't stop La Habra (Calif.) from scoring, as it added 22 points in the final quarter on the way to a 51-19 victory over Sonora (La Habra, Calif.) on Saturday.

The Highlanders were up 19-7 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Hector Islas in the second quarter.

La Habra expanded its lead to 22 points entering the fourth quarter. LH scored three times in the third, including once on a Sebastian Salinas touchdown run.

With the win the Highlanders extended their winning streak to six games. La Habra defeated the Coyotes 37-3 last week.

The Raiders' Nate Miranda played well. The senior wide receiver caught two touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.



Greg Gaines played well for LH in the victory. The junior running back ran for two touchdowns.

Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 30-13 win for the Highlanders.

The defeat comes as a step back for Sonora, which notched a 35-14 victory over Sunny Hills in its previous outing.
