Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Buckeye). They blew past the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos 55-20 on Friday. The Hawks pushed the score to 35-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Fighting Lobos had little chance of recovering from.

Xylin Yancy produced another solid effort rushing for 133 yards on only 11 carries.

Although La Joya Community took the loss, they still got scores from Aaron Winfield, Jared Molina, and Jayden Quick.

Buckeye now has a winning record of 3-2. As for La Joya Community, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Buckeye will be playing at home against Lake Havasu at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for La Joya Community, they will head out on the road to square off against Desert Sunrise at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Fighting Lobos their first taste of in-conference action this season.
