Basketball Recap: Brewer Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Brewer can now relate to. They took a 63-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Guntersville Wildcats on Monday. The Patriots were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in January of 2022.

When it comes to explaining why Brewer lost, don't look at Jackson Dunn. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-16 to rack up 18 points and three blocks. That's the most blocks Dunn has posted since back in December of 2024. Cam Ballinger was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Brewer smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive games.

Brewer's defeat dropped their record down to 25-7. As for Guntersville, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 24-9.

As of now, neither Brewer nor Guntersville have any future games scheduled.
