Basketball Recap: Union Falls Despite Big Games from Andrus Jensen and Brady Bell

If Union was feeling good fresh off their 53-33 takedown of Tooele last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Union Cougars took a hard 74-60 fall against the Uintah Utes on Tuesday. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Utes recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Union's loss came despite strong showings from Brady Bell and Andrus Jensen. Bell went 7 for 15 on his way to 16 points in addition to six assists and three steals, while Jensen posted 13 points. The dominant performance gave Bell a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Adamson, who had seven points.

It was another big night for Dauson Gardiner, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds for Uintah. Gardiner's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jd Pickup, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Union's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Uintah, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Union didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-55 victory against Grand County on the 20th. As for Uintah, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 52-47 win against Rock Springs on the 19th.
