Mankato East waltzed into their match on Friday with 16 straight wins... but they left with 17. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the John Marshall Rockets 74-44. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Mankato East pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 88.2 points per game. As for John Marshall, their defeat ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-3.

Mankato East will face off against Orono at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Orono knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 contests -- so hopefully Mankato East likes a good challenge. As for John Marshall, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Century at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. John Marshall is facing Century at the right time seeing as Century is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
