Baseball Recap: Mendenhall Tigers vs. Quitman Panthers
It was a proper cat-fight when Mendenhall duked it out with Quitman on Friday. The Tigers fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-4. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 13-8.
Montavis Hobbs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
