Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Mountain View

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Mountain View ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Capital Golden Eagles. Winning may never get old, but the Mavericks sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Davey Green tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

At the plate, Cooper Schneidt was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Schellhammer, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Mountain View's record now sits at 13-7. As for Capital, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.

Mountain View wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-3 defeat against Centennial on the 22nd. As for Capital, they have also already played their next game, an 8-2 loss against Owyhee on the 22nd.
