Basketball Game Preview: Centennial Eagles vs. Palm Beach Lakes Rams

The Centennial Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Palm Beach Lakes Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Centennial is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.7 points per game this season.

Centennial took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Port St. Lucie by a score of 61-48. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Jaguars are ranked 422nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jeremy Felix was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 14 on his way to 28 points and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Centennial's points. Vic Jackson was another key player, putting up ten points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Palm Beach Lakes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 64-47 to Suncoast.

Palm Beach Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Centennial, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
