Baseball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Wayne's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Wayne owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. Everything went their way against the Newark Reds as they made off with a 6-0 victory. Considering the Eagles have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Michael Grasso was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Twist, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Wayne has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Newark, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Wayne will have a chance to go back-to-back against Newark: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
