Volleyball Recap: Elk Point-Jefferson Falls to Mt. Vernon/Plankinton in First Game of Season

Elk Point-Jefferson had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Titans by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Elk Point-Jefferson took Mt. Vernon/Plankinton into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking 12-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 19-25, 23-25, 15-3.

The victory got Mt. Vernon/Plankinton back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Elk Point-Jefferson will welcome Dell Rapids at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mt. Vernon/Plankinton, they will venture away from home to face off against Wagner at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
