The Gibault Catholic Hawks will take on the Sparta Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Wednesday, Gibault Catholic came up short against Red Bud and fell 40-29. The Hawks have struggled against the Musketeers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Gibault Catholic's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Karmon Grohmann, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards, and Kamille Grohmann, who posted eight points and five assists. Kamille is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.
Meanwhile, Sparta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Okawville and fell 66-26. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.
Despite the defeat, Sparta saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sierra Starr went 6 for 11 en route to 13 points and six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Sparta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive games.
Sparta's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Gibault Catholic, they now have a losing record at 12-13.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Gibault Catholic has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Sparta struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Gibault Catholic strolled past Sparta in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 53-36. Will Gibault Catholic repeat their success, or does Sparta have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
