Sierra Vista faced Virgin Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mountain Lions took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Mountain Lions' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Ben La paced Sierra Vista's offense, picking up ten kills. La got some help from Jeremiah James and his 20 assists. Finally, Regi Beshiri kept Sierra Vista's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Sierra Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Virgin Valley, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 18-5.

Sierra Vista wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Centennial on the 8th. As for Virgin Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Desert Hills on the 7th.
