Soccer Game Preview: Rolesville vs. Athens Drive + How To Watch

The Rolesville Rams will head out to square off against the Athens Drive Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Tuesday, Rolesville didn't have quite enough to beat Wakefield and fell 3-2. Rolesville have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Riley Daniels and Tate Bible scored both of Rolesville's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Athens Drive was not quite Corinth Holders' equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Athens Drive can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 239th, while Corinth Holders are ranked 108th).

Athens Drive's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14-1. As for Rolesville, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9-1.

Rolesville beat Athens Drive 5-3 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
