Baseball Recap: Bigelow Falls to Carlisle in First Game of Season

Bigelow had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 6-1 to the Carlisle Bison on Monday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bison apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2021.

Bigelow got a good showing from Braeden Winningham, who struck out six batters over one inning while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs but no hits.

On the hitting side, Bigelow saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arturo Cabrera, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Carlisle now has a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Bigelow will square off against Wonderview at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Carlisle has already played their next match (against Barton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
