Basketball Game Preview: Proviso East Pirates vs. Perspectives Leadership/Technology Warriors

Having just played yesterday, the Proviso East Pirates will jump right back in to play the Perspectives Leadership/Technology Warriors at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Proviso East's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.

Proviso East will head into Thursday's game out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 94-60 loss at the hands of Lincoln Park. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 294th, while the Lions are ranked 41st).

Proviso East might have lost, but man, Isaiah Pickens was a machine: he posted 24 points. Pickens' evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarret Swift, who had nine points.

Meanwhile, Perspectives Leadership/Technology came up short against Crane Medical on Thursday and fell 53-45.

Proviso East's record now sits at 5-5. As for Perspectives Leadership/Technology, their record now sits at 9-3.

Proviso East won a match that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in December of 2022, slipping by Perspectives Leadership/Technology 73-72. Will Proviso East repeat their success, or does Perspectives Leadership/Technology have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
