After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Westfield School, Wilcox County was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 16-1 margin over the Montgomery County Eagles. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Patriots considering their one-run performance the game before.

Gracelyn Terry was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Terry was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Wilcox County let Zariah Martin and Maeson Owens loose on the outfield. Martin scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Owens went 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Carly Miller, who went 1-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, and a run.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Wilcox County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Montgomery County only posted an OBP of .250.

The victory got Wilcox County back to even at 1-1.

Wilcox County will host Crisp Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Montgomery County, they will venture away from home to challenge Telfair County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
