The South Warren Spartans will square off against the Daviess County Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. South Warren will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
On Friday, South Warren got the win against White House by a conclusive 12-5.
Ethan Reynolds was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxen Decker, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Daviess County was able to grind out a solid win over Breckinridge County on Friday, taking the game 8-5. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Fighting Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Brett Poole made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Poole was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
In other pitching news, Brodie Tucker looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Cameron Rickard, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Daviess County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Breckinridge County only managed five hits.
South Warren's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Daviess County, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. South Warren has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11 hits per game. However, it's not like Daviess County struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
