Recap: Poudre Community Academy Warriors vs. Nederland Panthers

The Poudre Community Academy Warriors can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Nederland 57-28 at home. The win was just what Poudre Community Academy needed coming off of a 87-59 loss in their prior match.

It was another big night for Ian Voetelink, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 27 rebounds. Voetelink is crushing the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Armando Granados-Porter, who scored two points along with four steals.

When it comes to explaining why Nederland lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rick Fortunato. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points. That was a full 50% of Nederland's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Gavin Dillon, who scored two points along with 14 rebounds.

Poudre Community Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Nederland, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-8.

Poudre Community Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Two Roads Charter School at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Two Roads Charter School comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Nederland, they will head out on the road to face off against Non Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Nederland is facing Non Varsity Opponent at the right time seeing as Non Varsity Opponent is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
