Basketball Game Preview: Elkhorn South Storm vs. Omaha Central Eagles

The Elkhorn South Storm will take on the Omaha Central Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Elkhorn South knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Omaha Central likes a good challenge.

It was a classic North v. South duel when Elkhorn South took on Omaha North on Friday. Elkhorn South took a 71-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Omaha North.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Omaha Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 56-48 win over Bellevue West on Friday.

Elkhorn South better keep an eye on Noelle Tcheuhchoua. She was instrumental in Omaha Central's win, going 10 for 14 on her way to 22 points and seven rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Tcheuhchoua has scored at least a third of Omaha Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sanai Cotton-Welchen, who went 5 of 11 en route to 15 points and five boards.

Elkhorn South's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Omaha Central, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7.

Elkhorn South came up short against Omaha Central in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 77-67. Can Elkhorn South avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
