Volleyball Game Preview: Devine Warhorses / Arabians vs. Giddings Buffaloes

The Devine Warhorses / Arabians will head out to square off against the Giddings Buffaloes at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Giddings took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Devine, who comes in off a win.

While Warhorses / Arabians fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Monday's season opener. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Wagner on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Warhorses / Arabians in their matchups with the Thunderbirds: they've now won five in a row.

Devine never let Wagner on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-13, 27-25, 25-11.

Devine's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Cami Carroll, who had 14 digs and four assists, and Calleigh Schneider, who had four aces. Those four assists gave Carroll a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Giddings came up short against Iola on Tuesday and fell 2-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-13.

Devine might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Giddings when the teams last played back in August of 2024. Can the Warhorses / Arabians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
