Western had to settle for second on Tuesday, but Zach Beyra sure wasn't going down easily. Beyra struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. The performance marked the most strikeouts he has had since back in April of 2024. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
