Softball Game Preview: Frisco Raccoons vs. Memorial Warriors

Frisco is 0-7 against Memorial since March of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Raccoons will challenge the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Frisco will be strutting in after a victory while Memorial will be coming in after a defeat.

Frisco proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Independence 2-1. The Raccoons haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Leija Folauo'o spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Frisco's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Amelia Hoch, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Memorial fell victim to Liberty and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Redhawks. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Frisco, their win bumped their record up to 9-13-1.

Frisco suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Memorial in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Raccoons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
