Football Recap: Providence Hall Comes Up Short

Providence Hall extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-8. They took a blow against the South Summit Wildcats, falling 52-8. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-0.

Andrew Taylor threw for 43 yards on three of 13 attempts. On the ground, Ethan Griffith rushed for 33 yards.

As for South Summit, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-4. Considering they have won five matchups by more than 28 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

South Summit's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bryce Pulver led the charge by rushing for 82 yards and two scores on only ten carries. Pulver is becoming a predictor of the Wildcats' success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't). William Neff also helped with two TDs in total.

Providence Hall has already played their next game, an 11-6 loss against Judge Memorial Catholic on the 24th. As for South Summit, after each having a week off, they and American Leadership Academy will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:00 p.m. on the 31st.
