Football Recap: Menendez Takes a Loss

Menendez fell victim to Bartram Trail and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They took a 13-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bartram Trail Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-13 two weeks ago.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bartram Trail to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lily Holden, who picked up 60 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

This is the second loss in a row for Menendez and nudges their season record down to 1-4. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.0 points on average over those games. As for Bartram Trail, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Menendez will square off against Crescent City at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bartram Trail, they will take on Spruce Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bartram Trail's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three games, but Friday's match will give them a chance to turn things around.
