Basketball Game Preview: Mary Star of the Sea Stars vs. La Salle Lancers

Mary Star of the Sea took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 54-40 victory over St. Genevieve.

Meanwhile, La Salle suffered their biggest loss since December 20, 2024 on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 67-36 loss at the hands of Verbum Dei Jesuit. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 649th, while the Eagles are ranked 313th).

Mary Star of the Sea pushed their record up to 16-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for La Salle, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.
