Softball Recap: Powers Catholic Comes Up Short

Powers Catholic had lost five straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 3-6 to make it six. They came up short against the Grand Blanc Bobcats, falling 16-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-0 on Monday.

As for Grand Blanc, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games.

For Grand Blanc's part, the team relied heavily on Hannah Johnson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Grace Matney also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Powers Catholic will face off against Davison at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Grand Blanc, they will be playing at home against Dakota at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
