Volleyball Game Preview: Coventry Oakers vs. East Greenwich Avengers

The Coventry Oakers will head out on the road to challenge the East Greenwich Avengers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Coventry will be strutting in after a win while East Greenwich will be coming in after a defeat.

Coventry is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Barrington, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Coventry was ranked 16th). The Oakers came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 3-1 on Monday. That two set margin sets a new team best for the Oakers this season.

Coventry was especially dominant in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 21-25, 25-9.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, East Greenwich's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Providence.

East Greenwich's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Coventry, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-7.
