Preview: Lakewood vs. Bellingham
Lakewood will challenge Bellingham on the road at 3:00 PM on Saturday. If you head out to watch the game, expect to stay the whole 48 minutes : the MaxPreps state rankings predict a close match.
Lakewood had to kick off their season on the road last Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They had enough points to win and then some against King's, taking their contest 31-13. No one had a better game by the numbers than junior Jared Taylor, who brought his A game into the match. He picked up 92 yards on the ground and threw 2 TDs.
Meanwhile, Bellingham had to hit the road for their first game, and unfortunately the road hit them back. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 0-23 punch to the gut against Lynden Christian.
Lakewood's win lifted them to 1-0 while Bellingham's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Lakewood can add another positive mark to their record or if Bellingham can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Lakewood's step.
