Greenbrier East has gone a perfect 3-0 against Independence recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Greenbrier East Spartans will square off against the Independence Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Greenbrier East sitting on five straight wins and Independence on three.

Greenbrier East is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Hampshire: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Greenbrier East blew Hampshire out of the water with a 72-34 final score. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Independence rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 42-31.

Greenbrier East better focus on containing Harmony Mills and Lacey Goodson as the pair were huge in Independence's win. Mills went 9-for-19 en route to 24 points in addition to eight steals and seven boards, while Goodson posted 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Mills has scored at least a third of Independence's points.

Independence smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive contests.

Greenbrier East pushed their record up to 21-1 with the victory, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points over those games. As for Independence, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.

Everything went Greenbrier East's way against Independence in their previous meeting on February 8th, as Greenbrier East made off with a 62-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Greenbrier East since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
