Volleyball Recap: Hopewell-Loudon Extends Winning Streak to Two

Hopewell-Loudon won the last time they faced Lakota, and Maddie Holcomb did her part to make sure it happened again. The Chieftains were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Raiders on Thursday thanks in part to Holcomb, who had 17 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 15 or more in each of the last nine games she's played dating back to last season.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-20, 25-17.

The victory made it two in a row for Hopewell-Loudon and bumps their season record up to 2-4. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 3-1 Gibsonburg (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 62.5% over those games). As for Lakota, they suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 2-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hopewell-Loudon will square off against rival Danbury at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lakota is set to take on their familiar foe Gibsonburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
