Softball Recap: Marsing Takes a Loss

Marsing lost against Melba last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Huskies took a 14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs.

Brooklyn Roadenbaugh was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and 11 unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Lily Thoene made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Taylor Callison, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Marsing's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Melba, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-13 record this season.

Marsing does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Melba, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-14 victory against Grangeville on the 10th.
