Basketball Recap: East Mecklenburg Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jordan Buzzard and Ahmari Hicks

If East Mecklenburg was feeling good fresh off their 70-45 takedown of Garinger last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The East Mecklenburg Eagles came up short against the Victory Christian Center Kings on Friday, falling 63-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since February 2nd.

Despite the defeat, East Mecklenburg had strong showings from Ahmari Hicks, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 21 points and five rebounds, and Jordan Buzzard, who posted nine points and six boards. Hicks has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last three times he's played.

Victory Christian Center was led to victory by Justyn Whitfield and Carlos Marshall. Whitfield went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc on his way to 32 points, while Marshall had 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals.
