Baseball Game Preview: Fenwick Friars vs. Loyola Academy Ramblers

Fenwick hasn't had much luck against Loyola Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Friars will challenge the Ramblers at 7:00 p.m. Fenwick has given up an average of 6.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fenwick is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against St. Laurence on Wednesday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 17-2.

Josh Morgan was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

14 must be Loyola Academy's lucky number: they beat DePaul College Prep with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Ramblers beat the Rams by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-10. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Ramblers.

Loyola Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-19. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Fenwick, their loss dropped their record down to 16-15-1.
