Volleyball Recap: Eagle Valley Takes a Loss

Eagle Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Northfield Nighthawks. The Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Nighthawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2019.

Riley Weatherred paced Eagle Valley's offense, picking up 12 kills. Weatherred got some help from Ansley Hopper and her 11 assists. Corah Pronga controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Eagle Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Northfield, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Eagle Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Grand Junction Central on the 30th. As for Northfield, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Frederick on the 30th.
