Preview: Lake Ridge Eagles vs. Mansfield Tigers
Lake Ridge is 4-0 against Mansfield since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lake Ridge Eagles will be playing at home against the Mansfield Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Lake Ridge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,010 points over their last 15 matches.
Lake Ridge pushed their score all the way to 57 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Duncanville on the road by a decisive 74-57 margin. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Lake Ridge came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Duncanville is ranked 64th).
The losing side was boosted by Ahmare Rose, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Eze Nwakamma, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Mansfield Legacy scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, Mansfield still came out on top. Mansfield walked away with a 65-58 win over Mansfield Legacy.
Lake Ridge's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-5. As for Mansfield, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-13.
Lake Ridge strolled past Mansfield when the teams last played on January 2nd by a score of 68-51. Does Lake Ridge have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mansfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
