Chavez and San Fernando are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2017, but likely not for long. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chavez has three straight victories, San Fernando has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Wednesday, Chavez got the win against Poly by a conclusive 11-5. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Chavez let Alyssa Anaya and Jessica Ramos run wild. Anaya got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Ramos got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Anaya has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nadine Valdez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one double.

Chavez always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when San Fernando took on Kennedy on Wednesday. The Tigers took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars.

San Fernando's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-11. As for Chavez, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.

Everything went Chavez's way against San Fernando when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Chavez made off with a 9-3 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
