Basketball Recap: Baker County Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

Baker County won the last time they faced Stanton and things went their way on Monday too. The Baker County Wildcats enjoyed a cozy 65-50 victory over the Stanton Blue Devils. The Wildcats pushed the score to 54-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Blue Devils cut but never quite recovered from.

Baker County had a senior duo take command as Jackson Carver went 7 of 9 on his way to 17 points and Will Johnson went 5 for 9 on his way to 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamarion Goodman, who posted five points and seven rebounds.

Baker County's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Stanton, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baker County will face off against Temple Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stanton, they will square off against KIPP Bold City at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
