De Anza had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 50-46 W against the Elite Eagles.

Despite the loss, Elite still got an impressive performance from AJ Hardaway, who posted 13 points and three steals. Hardaway has become a key player for the Eagles: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Teddy Cooper, who had four points and eight rebounds.

De Anza now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Elite, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-4.

Looking ahead, De Anza is taking a road trip to square off against Concord at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dons will be up against the Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 67.67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Elite, they and Pinole Valley will face off at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
